Let me back up this train for ya and explain. Approximately one year ago this week, the Big Guy asked me to marry him and gave me a beautiful ring (if I do say so myself) ...
Montserrat, Spain where we got engaged ... the first time.
And I wanted to give him something in return, a gift ... something of value, that he could keep forever, and that would signify the promise we made to each other.
But what?? A lot of my girls got their boys fancy watches but the Big Guy said he didn't want one (and let's get real here, I couldn't really afford the kind of watch you wear foreva eva) so I suggested an engagement ring. Yeh its true, dudes don't really get to do the engagement ring thing but I say, 'why not!?!' And the Big Guy agreed with me, he loved the idea of a ring he could wear until we get married, especially since our wedding bands will be extremely simple (according to Jewish tradition) so he liked that his engagement ring could be embellished in some way.
Cut to the next few months of me frantically trying to find something that he would: love, wear, and that would mean something to him .... and then cut to me giving up in utter frustration. Until, the blog world came to my rescue! Meg from A Practical Wedding posted about on of her sponsors Turtle Love Committee. And I fell in love ... again .. with an inanimate object. I immediately ordered the ring with the tree etched into it ... and then like a sly fox I waited ... until the perfect day, the (almost) anniversary of our engagement, in front of some of our closest friends, in a beautiful place .... and I popped the question! With this ...
Ladies, let me tell you, it was far more nerve wracking than anticipated ... but the shock and joy on his face where well worth it! You wanna see it on the Big Guy himself?? Check it ...

Do you love? I love!! He loves. It feels like we are engaged all over again ... and I can't stop smiling.
Oh and on a sidenote ... Turtle Love Committee is amazing. The ring is gorgeous, it arrived fast and in a beautiful package, with a lovely card thanking me for my business. This is in no way a sponsored post, I just want you guys to know ... they rock. Period.
