Where my heads at ...

As a little Bar-related distraction - here are some famous people who failed the Bar when they first took it ...
Jerry Brown: Attorney General of California (and former California governor). Failed the California bar once before passing.

Hillary Clinton: Failed the D.C. bar exam in the 1970s, but passed the Arkansas bar -- where she went on to have a successful legal career, as a partner in the Rose Law Firm.

John F. Kennedy, Jr. (deceased): Highly attractive son of President John F. Kennedy. Failed the New York bar twice, before passing on the third try. Served as an assistant district attorney in New York from 1989 to 1993

Emily Pataki: Highly attractive daughter of former New York Governor George Pataki. Failed the New York bar the first time, but passed the second time.

Kathleen Sullivan: Former dean of Stanford law school, leading constitutional law scholar, and possible Supreme Court nominee (or Solicitor General pick) in a Democratic administration. Failed the California bar exam when she took it in July 2005.

Pete Wilson: Former California governor. Failed the California bar exam three times, before passing on his fourth try.

From here.

Oh and I desperately do not want to join them!!! Everyone send me positive vibes please!!!

I like to do things backwards...

So ummmm ... I know I should be studying for the Bar ... but how about instead I order wedding rings even though we don't even have a venue yet??? .... Ok!
The Big Guy and I want one thing in our bands .... simplicity! We just want simple, classic, elegant bands. Plus, its a Jewish tradition to have a ring that is unbroken (so no engraving, no embellishments) to symbolize the never ending nature of your love and bond to one another.

... And we found what we were looking for here.  I will do a full review when we receive the rings.

Theory of relativity meet your match in the genius that is Weddzilla!

Sometimes people are hit with a stroke of genius (I am still waiting for mine ... it will hopefully hit right as I sit down for the Bar in ... gulp .... two weeks!) ... and that has to be what happened when the smarties behind Weddzilla.com came up with the idea of allowing vendors to bid on all your wedding related needs.

Thats right you heard me! No more frantic emailing for price quotes or scouring the net to find what you need. Post it on their website and have vendor come to you! ... Brilliant!

Don't wait people, sign up over at Weddzilla.com and then sit back and relax ... that whole wedding planning thing, it'll take care of itself.

Best. Bachelorette Party Idea. EVER!

"Founded by a Vegas gal who couldn't find someone to teach her "how to look tough and sexy in a cat suit", this day-long sex-and-violence course chauffeurs students by limo to undisclosed training locations throughout Manhattan for lessons in everything from lap dancing, to poker skills, to hand-to-hand combat, to firing automatic weapons"

Check it out here.

Eat. Sleep. Law.

The NY Bar Exam is now officially 21 days away .... that's right 21 little days until I take the exam that determines my future. This card above is a pretty accurate description of how I am feeling, except for one difference, since I am taking the bar for two states, New York and New Jersey, it will be three days instead of two ... ugh three days of brutal molestation by way of exam ... I am scared people, very scared ...

Ok back on point, since the exam is so close, I am amping up the studying and entering what I like to call my studying-hibernation-mode ... so unfortunately I am going to scale back the blogging until after the bar. I will still be aorund and I will definately still be posting every now and then but not as regularly from before.

On the bright side, when I come back to the world of every day blogging, I will have huge news becasue the Big Guy and I are planning on booking our venue in the first two weeks of March (we are very close to picking a place!!!). Plus, I will have lots of vendor reviews, ideas, projects, and even some new stuff, you will just have to wait and see.

Wish your girl luck and stay tuned...

... for the new Flea Market Classifieds from the fantastic Amanda over at VintageGlam Weddings.

Here is how she described the new project:

What is it: Free local wedding classifieds. You can browse by state and by city. There are no fees, and there is no subscription required. Users also have the option to state whether their items can be shipped or are available for pick up as well.
Why: to help brides cut their wedding costs, newlyweds recoup some of their wedding budget, and to get in the spirit of recycling, reusing and reducing.
How it works: choose your category, your area then start describing what you’re selling. It will ask you if you’re willing to will internationally, ship to the U.S only or if it’s only available for pick up (great for heavy or fragile items such as vases). You can upload up to 4 pictures no larger than 600×600pixels. There is also the option to publish your email address to the public or let users email you through a contact form that is visible on your ad page (recommended). This option keeps your email address anonymous.

So what are you waiting for ... get over there, check it out and show Amanda some love.
