No color scheme? No problem!

We never picked wedding colors ... usually when people ask about it, we just shrug .. which is followed closely by us having to call an ambulance to revive the person we have just been talking to since they have clearly passed out from the shock of hearing something quite so horrible as "no set colors" ... I know we are truly heathens... but more to my point .. we just never sat down and picked colors. Mostly because we both think a color palette will just kind of develop organically on its own, based on the choices we make (and not the other way around).

As most of you know, lately, we have been loving greens. There is nothing that makes me smile more than a huge evergreen with thick green needles dusted in white snow ... the green, the white, the black, all work so beautifully together and they just scream, WINTER is here! It makes me feel like a little kid again waiting for Ded Moroz to bring me presents for New Year (yep in Soviet Russia even Jewish kids got a sort of Santa, he was like a fake government sanctioned Santa for all Russian kids, we can call him Fanta .... I can explain but it takes a while ...).

Wow ... my digressions are really getting the best of me today! Anyways ...

This weekend we got bridesmaids dresses! Yep, they are selected and ordered and done with. But the interesting part is that they are not green, which had been the plan originally. On Saturday, we had picked out a dress and were debating colors in the store and my beautiful ladies decided the dress we had picked would look better in a different color. They are far wiser and more stylish then I; besides which they actually have to wear the damn thing, so I totally deferred to them. Plus I couldn't agree more that the color they picked will be a stunner on everyone.

... and now a color scheme is starting to develop:
Green - trees which are very symbolic to the two of us
White - for winter and my super fabulous hypothetical cotton ball bouquet
and .................................................................................................
Navy - which is the color of the girls dresses
So what do you think? Here are some inspiration boards I found online to give you guys some visuals:

I love these colors! First off, they are totally not subject to season... earthy tones are good in every season! They aren't dull earthy, but bright, looking clean and refreshing.. a wonderful idea and color scheme!!!
kudos to you!

Very pretty! I find it very strange that the first question I got from most people was "what are your colors?" Like you, we're sort of waiting for the color scheme to pan out for us...

Love it! We are doing green and chocolate brown and I am now sad we didn't pick your colors

Personally, I love it! It looks very classy and harmonious, which will be comforting for your guests. And I'm a HUGE fan of navy. =) Well done!

I think this sounds great! As you know, we didn't choose colours either, and just relied on our own good taste for everything to come together. I am sure yours will too!

Beautiful!! And kudos to for you for letting your colours come to life as opposed to you being stressed about them! A lot of brides could learn from you.

I'm loving the navy & green. It's great.

We had yellowy/golden orange and red. With very very few blue elements. I was inspired by a sunrise. And it sort of fell into place, too.

It is strange when people ask you that. It's ok if you clash!

Love dark, dark navy though. 'Tis the way forward!

I love them, sounds great. And it's so much nicer to have a scheme based on your reasons which will make it all be so much easier to pull together. It's funny though because in the UK I never got asked about my colour scheme... It just kind of came together (or I like to think so anyhow!)

I think this is great! People ask us that question all the time and we look at each other, shrug and say... well, we like green. Right now we have things in ivory, about 12 different shades of green, black and a little dark red. Random color schemes can totally work.
I really like the navy, green and white :)

This is wonderful!
I didn't start out with a color scheme, either. Pastel pink and green just sort of happened. :)

It makes me think of mint and dark chocolate. The ones wrapped in little rectangular foils and the top half is green and the bottom half is chocolate. I know brown is not currently in the color scheme, but the navy sort of reminds me of it when paired with the minty green.

Or mint chocolate chip ice cream...

either way, delicious colors all around!

This may sound a little insane but I don't really care what the colors are when it comes to my wedding and the things around me. I'm just happy I'm marrying the person I really like.
