Hello all, I am young Russian/Jewish/American girl (i.e. a Bridechka) planning her wedding in New York City. After much exasperation and frustration with all of the fluffy, stuffy, pricey and just plain boring wedding venues, flowers, favors, etc... I decided to start this blog to share my insights, inspirations, and ordeals in this process. I hope this blog can be a place where practical, modern, and chic brides and grooms can come together help each other out...I'm looking at you folks...

That's a great idea :)

We kept a lot of our leftover "stuff," though the kids at the wedding took so much of it home. Our leftover food went to a local halfway house that accepts perishable food items. And I had a local church save my wedding gown to give to a bride-to-be in need (though I never found out if they did or not). Still we had a lot of waste, and I found that somewhat dismaying.
Excellent idea, thanks! I am going to contact them.
