Cute bouts

As far as things that matter to me, boutonnieres rank really really really low on that list, like just below professional baseball and a wedding videographer (although this one is up for debate too) ... but then I stumbled across these handsome little devils and you know your girl can't resist a personal-touch-adding DIY project. This is one is from the fabulous peeps over at Once Wed, click on the link for detailed instructions.
The Big Guy and I have decided to honor a throwback Jewish tradition and not see each other for the full week before our wedding (both of our families and all of our friends think that we are crazy but I think its kind of romantic... anticipation of a good thing and all that). So I will have lots of time that week to sit at home and do DIY projects ... oh yeh and do all of the other "little" projects I have dreamt up for myself and work and hang out with my friends/family ... on second thought lets ponder this new project a little further....

I love the idea of not spending a week together before hand, we did just one night and that did make the day all the more special for the element of surprise! But you'll be surprised how quickly time flies past the week beforehand.

Wow - a week? That's an insane tradition! I've never heard of it. I can't wait to hear how that goes.

I love this! We can think of a way to winterize it...b/c it's kinda springy now. Maybe snowflakes? or pine cone shapes?

I never knew about that tradition. I love that! Man, my husband was in a tizzy over not seeing me the night before so major kudos to you guys! So... does that mean that you aren't doing a rehearsal + rehearsal dinner then?

Anyway, cute bouts. You should definitely take it on!

Yevs - I am all about the pine cones idea .. I knew I kept you around for a reason!

Amanda - yeh that is what we are still trying to figure out. We might have a quick rehearsal and an informal get together just for family and our attendants the week before, and the last time we see each other will be during that party. The only hitch in the brilliant plan is that our out of town peeps will be completely out of the loop .. but we are working on figuring it out.

Thanks to everyone who commented :)
