Help your horticulturally-challenged girl

I have a particular fondness for giant flowers (especially when they are white and green), hence my devotion to giant calla lillies. So, I am walking with the Big Guy in Hudson River Park this weekend, when I noticed these lovelies.
I stopped and immediately took a photo but I still have no clue what the are. And neither does the Big Guy which is a rare situation indeed (he is all good with the gardeny type shiz).
So help me out ... what the heck are they???
Super cute, no?

I'm not sure what they are, but I love them!

I -think- they're onion flowers. Onions have ball shaped clusters of small flowers, and sometimes they're quite large. My favorite is the Yorktown Onoin.

I agree with violarulz, they look very much like onion flowers to me. So very pretty though!

I think they are Alium too. I've only ever seen them as a purple flower. So beautiful. I love them.
