Hello all, I am young Russian/Jewish/American girl (i.e. a Bridechka) planning her wedding in New York City. After much exasperation and frustration with all of the fluffy, stuffy, pricey and just plain boring wedding venues, flowers, favors, etc... I decided to start this blog to share my insights, inspirations, and ordeals in this process. I hope this blog can be a place where practical, modern, and chic brides and grooms can come together help each other out...I'm looking at you folks...

niiiiice! I hate retail. clearance racks are my best friend!
Your gown? Or a gown? What's it like :)
YAY!!!! Do we get to see pics???
Haha, I guess it is MY gown. I bought it on a whim, when I was at a sample sale (first ever dress I tried on) and I told myself "scoop it up, if you fall in love with something else, you can always sell it for at least as much as you bought it for!"
So, cut to now, after I have tried on some other dresses... just to see what's out there... you know? i was scared i was missing something because I lacked some experience BUT like all the wayward women before me I realized that I love the one I am with ... the dress I am with that is.
I will be sure to post about it very soon :)
Yeay! Congratulations. And don't worry about doubting the dress, I think it's part of the route you go to loving it.
congrats! was teh sample sale crowded? let us dress-virgns know what to expect walking into these things!
THANKS!
Haha, I am totally not an expert but in my experience they are all different (I know lamest answer ever but so true). Some are crazy crowded, madness fests full of crazy ladies but most are totally chill.
When I went to Priscilla of Boston it was not at all crowded. I went really late in the day so there was a fairly small amount of dresses left and just a few ladies wandering around. It was self-service which I prefer because I don't like being fussed over and pushed into a choice by sales people (even the most well meaning). All in all I definitely think it was worth going even if it was just to take a look at some styles.
BUT don't make my mistake, bring someone with you! I was all by myself and I was sad that I didn't have my mom or friends there to confirm that this was a good idea.
