Look what I bought...

Ok folks... your girl over here has a history of impulse purchasing (I actually already bought a wedding dress because I saw one at a sample sale about a month after I got engaged - it was 85% off!). So the other day, I was doing something that an impulse shopper like myself should absolutely NOT be doing, browsing aimlessly on E-bay for wedding related items.

After many listings, I found this stole which I promptly bid on and won for whopping $0.99! Yep, one buck! ... have I mentioned how much I love a good deal???
Now normally I do not buy fur, I am just not into it and I believe it is unnecessary BUT when I saw this my mind starting swirling with images of me on beautiful winter morning taking photos with the Big Guy under the Brooklyn Bridge wrapped in this cute little furry beast (wearing a white fur is so very "Russian Bride").

The woman selling it wore it for a wedding and the ad was asking for someone to "adopt" it, so I thought why not? Its not like I am supporting the fur industry I am just taking it off someone else's hands! Right? right? ... can everyone here my moral ruler bending to the will of my deal-seeking fur-craving bride side??

Haha, I will report back when I receive it from the seller ... I am kind of excited for this little purchase... mostly because it cost a dollar but also because there is something so glamorous about a white stole... come to think of it, the word "stole" itself makes me feel glamorous!

More venue reviews to come very soon!

That is so dreamy Bridechka! I am totally with you on the 'love vintage fur but hate the fur industry' dilemma, its a difficult one.

I love it!! I have a fur stole for our wedding too, except it's fake but even still, wasn't nearly as good a buy as yours!

What a great find! i love it!
I'm having a summer wedding, so fur would probably be too hot :P

I dig it. I love the idea that you're adopting it and saving it from wasting away in an attic somewhere...

Ohhhh this is fabulous! I'm not normally into fur either...but this, this just might be perfect! And, what can beat a dollar!? Congrats on the great find!

Thanks everyone for your comments. Just as an update, it arrived today and it is absolutely perfection! I was kinda scared that it would be somewhat less than stellar, ya know being a dollar and all, but it turns out you can trust people on the internet, at least on e-bay. Can't to try it on with dress!

Thanks again for your comments!

Ooh! Pretty! How does it look with your dress?

Seriously? You got that for a dollar? That is uh-mazing!

I'm totally against new fur, but I figure buying vintage fur(s) from actual people & not companies doesn't support the industry anymore... right? So I have 2 fur coats that I bought at flea markets, etc. I live in Texas, though, so I've never really had the chance to wear them :(

Thanks reading the blog and for your comments!

Julia - I am not sure yet because my dress is being cared for by my mom who lives in Staten Island so I haven't had a chance to try it on with the dress yet but I will this weekend and I will report back (keep your fingers crossed!).

Kat - I can't tell you how many items I have bought at flea markets or vintage shops because they were such a fabulous find but that I have no opportunity to wear, I completely feel you on that one!
